Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Investigation Manager to remotely oversee and drive the escape management process within our aerospace operations. This role involves leading root cause analyses, facilitating cross-functional investigations, and collaborating extensively with quality, inspection, and operations teams to ensure effective problem resolution and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site Escape Management procedures including conducting root cause and corrective action analysis, overseeing population bounding, and spearheading cross-departmental investigations.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues by fostering accountability and teamwork within the organization.
- Lead and mentor Problem Resolution Teams by providing targeted coaching and specialized training.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in root cause analysis to elevate organizational proficiency in these methodologies.
- Maintain CORE discipline standards and relevant certifications.
- Implement and sustain Quality Clinics, tracking associated metrics to monitor effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with Inspectors, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to address daily operational challenges.
- Gather, examine, and interpret data to reduce operational disruptions and eliminate nonconformance occurrences.
- Direct both internal quality audits and support third-party audit engagements.
- Champion continuous improvement programs and update Quality Management System documentation accordingly.
- Communicate findings and status updates effectively with leadership, business partners, and suppliers.
- Lead investigations related to quality, RCCA activities, and population bounding initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality Assurance with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with at least 5 years experience.
- Preferred certifications include RedX, Six Sigma, or similar data-driven problem-solving credentials.
- Proven experience within aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of the 8D problem-solving method is mandatory.
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in RCCA tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Understanding of quality systems, escape management, and applicable regulatory standards.
- RTX CORE Champion certification is required, or commitment to achieve it within 12 months after hiring.
