Role overview
Enable Ireland is seeking a motivated Adult Services Support Worker to join its Meath Adult Service in Bailis, Navan, County Meath. The organisation supports children and adults with disabilities across Ireland and is recognised as one of the Irish Independent 150 Best Employers 2025. This is a permanent, full-time role with 39 working hours per week. The roster includes shift work, sleepovers, waking nights and weekend duties.
The role sits within supported living services for people with a primary physical disability. The service is built on partnership, dignity and respect, with the aim of helping each person maintain independence and live the life they choose in their local community.
What the role involves
The Support Worker will help service users with day-to-day living needs and provide person-centred support tailored to each individual. Duties include personal and domestic care, support with mobility, help accessing community services, and assistance with therapy and other planned programmes. The exact responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of each service user.
Hours and contract
Permanent full-time position at 1.0 WTE.
Work pattern: 39 hours per week, including shift work, sleepovers, waking nights and weekends.
Pay and leave
Salary scale: €35,670 to €42,440 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI (Long Service Increments).
This pay scale is due to increase in 2026 in line with the recent WRC agreement on enhanced pay adjustments for Section 39 organisations.
Annual leave: 30 days pro rata per annum, with a proportionate amount for staff with less than 12 months of service.
Essential requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A QQI Level 5 Major Award (8 modules) in Social Care, Disability, Care Skills, or another relevant health-related area. Candidates with 2 modules completed may also apply if they agree to complete the remaining modules within 12 months of starting.
- Previous experience supporting adults with disabilities in a healthcare setting.
- At least 1 year of experience providing personal care in a health or social care environment.
- Eligibility to work in the state, in line with the relevant employment permit requirements.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- A valid driving licence for use within the state/jurisdiction, plus access to your own transport to support community-based services.
Desirable experience
- Experience working with people who have Acquired Brain Injury, Epilepsy, or behaviours of concern.
- Background in supporting people with disabilities in a community setting.
