About the role

This position sits at the centre of the student journey, helping applicants move from initial application through to enrolment with accurate guidance and timely communication.

You will join a collaborative team responsible for admissions, qualification entry decisions, and programme planning. The work calls for consistent judgement, sound knowledge of the education environment, and strong alignment with both internal policies and external compliance requirements. A strong focus on service quality is essential, as the team aims to give every new student clear, prompt, and dependable support.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, based at the Hillcrest Campus in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. The salary range is NZD 73,235 to NZD 87,024 per year, depending on the skills, knowledge, and experience you bring to the role.

What the role involves

  • Assess student applications and guide applicants through admission and programme planning.
  • Apply a consistent, informed approach when making decisions about entry into qualifications.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with prospective and new students.
  • Support students as they choose programmes and papers that match their qualification path and University regulations.
  • Use critical thinking to adapt to process, system, and business changes that improve outcomes.
  • Help the team achieve processing targets while keeping the student experience at the centre.
  • Contribute ideas for better practices and more efficient ways of working.

About you

You are a people-focused professional who enjoys working with a diverse range of applicants. You communicate well, stay positive under pressure, and are comfortable handling a varied role that combines customer support with process-driven work. You take pride in helping people make informed decisions and feel at ease during an important stage of their study journey.

You will need to work accurately within tight deadlines, maintain strong performance standards, and respond well to ongoing changes in procedures and systems. A friendly, approachable manner and a genuine customer-first mindset will help you succeed in this role.
