About the Role
This position focuses on guiding students through the full admissions pathway for overseas education and NEET-related counseling. The counselor will handle prospects from the first enquiry through enrollment, including counseling, application support, visa guidance, and coordination until admission is completed. A consultative selling style, strong counseling ability, and sound understanding of international education are essential. Prior knowledge of MBBS admissions in India is highly valued.
Student Counseling and Admissions
- Connect with prospective students through calls, walk-ins, online meetings, and other communication channels.
- Assess each student’s academic profile, career goals, budget, and destination preferences in detail.
- Suggest appropriate countries, universities, and programs based on the student’s profile.
- Explain admission rules, eligibility criteria, SOPs, LORs, and application schedules.
- Turn enquiries into confirmed enrollments while meeting monthly admission goals.
- Develop confidence with students and parents through professional guidance and consistent follow-up.
Application and Admission Support
- Support students with university shortlisting, application completion, and submission.
- Coordinate the gathering and checking of academic, financial, and supporting documents.
- Monitor application progress, offer letters, and admission deadlines.
- Assist with country-specific SOPs and GTE statements.
- Help students with visa applications and pre-departure preparation.
CRM and Sales Management
- Keep student and lead data updated accurately in the CRM system.
- Track the admission funnel from enquiry stage through to enrollment.
- Ensure leads are followed up within the expected timeline.
- Prepare weekly and monthly updates on admissions, conversions, and revenue.
- Review which lead sources perform best.
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong working relationships with students, parents, universities, and partner organizations.
- Coordinate with IELTS, PTE, and OET support teams.
- Encourage high student satisfaction and referrals.
- Stay informed about changing admission and visa rules.
Key Performance Expectations
- Meeting monthly enrollment targets.
- Improving enquiry-to-application conversion rates.
- Improving application-to-offer conversion rates.
- Improving offer-to-visa conversion rates.
- Generating revenue for the counselor’s portfolio.
- Maintaining quick lead follow-up turnaround time.
- Supporting student satisfaction and referral growth.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should be graduates or postgraduates from any discipline. The preferred background includes 6 months to 2 years of experience in study abroad counseling, overseas education, or NEET/MBBS counseling. Experience in telecalling and student counseling is preferred. Exposure to IELTS, PTE, or OET is an added advantage. The role also includes office administration support and helping management with the day-to-day operations of the studies overseas international experience centre.
Additional Information
This role needs strong knowledge of overseas study destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, the USA, Europe, Georgia, Vietnam, and Russia. The counselor should also understand visa documentation and financial proof requirements, and be comfortable using CRM tools and Microsoft Office. Core strengths should include organization, follow-up discipline, and effective communication.
