Job description
Role overview
Etihad Airways is looking for an Administrator to support its Airport Operations team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on administrative and operational coordination for transit and emergency visa handling for passengers moving through Abu Dhabi.
This position is located at Zayed International Airport and runs on a compulsory 24/7 rotating schedule. The shift pattern consists of 12-hour shifts arranged as two day shifts, two night shifts, and then four days off. Candidates should be fully prepared to work both day and night duty in a nonstop operational setting.
The opportunity is well suited to a detail-focused UAE National who enjoys a busy airport environment and can deliver reliable service while managing government-related processes and records accurately.
This is a shift-based airport role rather than a conventional office-hours job.
Key responsibilities
- Handle administrative paperwork, applications, and records in line with established policies and procedures.
- Assist with the processing of transit visas, emergency visas, and related operational tasks.
- Draft reports, summaries, and other documents needed by the business.
- Manage submissions and follow-up communication with government bodies and outside stakeholders when required.
- Answer routine queries from internal teams and external customers promptly and professionally.
- Keep records, databases, and filing systems accurate while safeguarding confidentiality and data quality.
- Work with business systems and software tools to carry out daily activities and reporting needs.
- Track applications, documentation, and approvals to help ensure service standards are met.
- Contribute to administrative projects and wider operational initiatives as needed.
- Support colleagues in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly within a shift environment.
Requirements
- Must be a UAE National holding a Family Book.
- Either a High School Certificate with at least 2 years of relevant administrative experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with no prior experience required.
- Background in administration, customer service, government liaison, document processing, or a similar support role is an advantage.
- Experience submitting or preparing applications for government entities is preferred.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks accurately at once.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general business systems.
- Willing and able to work a rotating 24/7 schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience in an operational, customer-facing, or airport setting is beneficial.
Additional information
The recruitment process includes a human review of all applications. Shortlisted candidates will then be asked to complete a recorded video interview through a third-party platform, giving them the chance to present their experience and answers beyond the CV. After that, selected applicants will move to an initial technical interview with the hiring manager, and some finalists may be invited to a further interview if needed. Applicants will be informed of their status as soon as possible.
Etihad Airways presents itself as the UAE’s national airline and describes a broader vision for global aviation growth from its Abu Dhabi hub. The company states its “Journey 2030” ambition to double its fleet, expand its network, and develop its people for the future.
