Position summary
QC Capital is hiring an Acquisitions & Investment Analyst in Charlotte, NC to help identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across its portfolio. The role is centered on rigorous financial analysis, underwriting, and due diligence, with a strong emphasis on retail, car wash, and quick lube / oil change businesses. The analyst will work closely with leadership as a core financial partner, providing insights that support disciplined capital deployment and investment decisions tied to fund strategy and target returns.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze acquisition opportunities in depth, including underwriting for retail, car wash, and oil change platforms.
- Create and maintain sophisticated financial models covering cash flows, IRR calculations, and scenario or sensitivity testing.
- Assess whether opportunities fit the firm’s strategy, can scale operationally, and offer attractive risk-adjusted returns.
- Perform market, industry, and competitor research across automotive services and retail segments.
- Assist with transaction execution through valuation work, financial diligence, and deal structuring support.
- Develop investment memoranda, executive presentations, and other decision-support materials for senior stakeholders.
- Help coordinate diligence efforts across financial, operational, legal, and market areas.
- Monitor the acquisition pipeline, including sourcing activity, deal status, and progression metrics.
- Review portfolio performance and surface insights related to capital allocation, margin improvement, and expansion opportunities.
- Work with portfolio company leaders to sharpen acquisition strategy and integration assumptions.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or CFA is preferred.
- 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or multi-location service acquisitions.
- Prior exposure to automotive services such as car wash or quick lube, or to retail roll-up strategies, is highly desirable.
- Strong command of advanced financial modeling and business valuation methods.
- Solid understanding of core investment measures such as IRR, ROI, and cash-on-cash return.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools.
- Proven ability to juggle several transactions at once in a fast-moving deal environment.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to distill complex information for senior leaders.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
