Role Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting the billing and collections processes to secure timely customer payments and maintain precise financial records. This role ensures all Accounts Receivable functions are conducted promptly, accurately, and compliantly, contributing to the efficient operation of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process billing, collections, and reporting activities within specified deadlines.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Track customer accounts for overdue or irregular payments.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and payment inconsistencies.
- Produce aged analysis reports and monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure adherence to policies.
- Maintain up-to-date customer master data for accounts receivable.
- Follow established protocols for handling bank receipts, cash, credit card payments, etc.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues.
- Communicate with customers through various channels including phone, email, and mail.
- Support month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
- Ensure compliance with company credit and collection policies.
- Conduct credit checks and suggest customer credit limits for approval in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Two to three years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Part-qualified accountant or accounts technician credentials are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
- Experience using MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP or equivalents.
- High accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent data entry and numerical aptitude.
- Effective communication, investigative, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Team-oriented with the capability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
