Role overview
The Arbor School in Dubai is looking for a proactive, organised, and detail-focused Accounts Receivable Officer to support its finance operations. The role centres on handling student fee collections accurately and on time, keeping financial records up to date, and delivering professional support to families and internal teams.
This position suits someone who can juggle several priorities, work with care and confidentiality, and contribute positively to the school’s sustainability-focused ethos through day-to-day work.
About The Arbor School
Founded in 2018, The Arbor School is built around a learning vision shaped by nature, human creativity, and the social and environmental challenges of the Arabian Peninsula. The school’s approach is grounded in optimism, compassion, and a belief that learning is lifelong.
The community values ecological and human wellbeing as connected goals, and encourages learners to understand sustainability, find purpose in their relationships with others and the natural world, and build confidence through meaningful action in school, at home, and beyond.
Working culture
The school describes its community as inclusive, energetic, and collaborative. Staff are expected to build trusting relationships, work closely as a team, communicate early and clearly, meet agreed deadlines, and approach challenges with steadiness, flexibility, and a positive mindset.
Key duties
The selected candidate will support the Finance Department by managing accounts receivable processes efficiently and maintaining constructive relationships with parents and other stakeholders regarding fee matters.
- Process student fee invoices and incoming payments accurately and within required timelines.
- Track unpaid balances and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Reconcile receivables and maintain correct financial records.
- Assist with fee collection activities in line with school procedures and policies.
- Respond to account-related questions from parents, staff, and external contacts in a professional manner.
- Handle administrative and financial tasks carefully while protecting confidential information.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will be experienced, highly organised, and comfortable working in a structured finance environment. Strong attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.
Applicants should have fluent or native-level English, a relevant qualification, and prior experience in school finance or a similar setting. Advanced MS Office capability is also required.
Remuneration
A competitive tax-free compensation package will be offered in line with school policy and UAE labour law.
Application requirements
Applicants are expected to submit a current CV with a recent photograph and a cover letter of no more than two pages explaining their suitability and commitment to the role.
Safeguarding and approval conditions
The school places strong emphasis on safeguarding and child protection. Hiring is subject to CV and qualification verification, interviews, identity checks, criminal record screening, and satisfactory references. All appointments also require approval from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
