Role Overview

Comer Group Ireland is looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Receivable Assistant to join its team in Naas, County Kildare. The ideal applicant will bring prior experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping, along with strong organisation, reporting ability, and a hands-on approach. This position suits someone who can manage tasks independently, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to weekly reporting and year-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out bank reconciliations, post transactions, and analyse activity records.
  • Raise bills and manage collection of tenant income and service charges.
  • Record creditor invoices and complete reconciliation work.
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany invoices.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Calculate accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Support statutory filing tasks, including RTDs and VAT returns.
  • Contribute to year-end close procedures and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts across the group.
  • Manage and update accounts receivable records on a daily basis.
  • Maintain internal reports and work with Residential Managers.
  • Process batches of creditor invoices, including verification and posting.
  • Reconcile statements regularly.
  • Communicate with external auditors when needed.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience is required.
  • An Accounting Technician Certificate would be a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and logical decision-making are essential.
  • Ability to work alone and within a team environment.
  • Confident problem-solving skills and a practical, solution-focused mindset.
  • Strong IT skills and experience with accounting systems.
  • Experience with Yooz would be beneficial.
  • Experience using SAGE or comparable accounting software is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong financial understanding and technical capability.
  • Self-motivated and able to add value in a demanding role.
