Role Overview

The Claims Payments Officer is responsible for overseeing the entire claims payment lifecycle—ensuring that customer claims are processed promptly and accurately, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and providing excellent service through effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full claims payment cycle from receipt of approved claims to the final payment, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to agreed timelines.
• Precisely record claims transactions within the Financial Management System to support thorough and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee customer payment statuses and ensure prompt stakeholder communication to facilitate a smooth customer experience and swiftly address payment inquiries.
• Identify, investigate, and promptly rectify any returned or failed payments to reduce delays and improve payment success.
• Act as the main contact point for claims payment inquiries, maintaining strong relationships with Operations, Customer Experience teams, and banking partners.
• Prepare and deliver precise claims reports that provide timely insights into claims volumes and payment performance.
• Conduct bank account and cash book reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are flagged, examined, and resolved within stipulated timelines.
• Champion continual improvements in claims payment processes while ensuring strict adherence to company policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
