About the Role
KPMG Private Enterprise New Zealand is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Officer to join its Finance team in Auckland. The role is centred on handling employee expense claims and supporting internal teams so that reimbursements and related finance tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
This position is part-time, with 25 hours worked each week from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Check, validate, and process employee expense claims in line with company rules and procedures.
- Make sure expenses are coded correctly and backed by the right supporting documents.
- Handle corporate credit card reconciliations and look into any mismatches or unusual items.
- Answer employee questions about expense submissions and reimbursement steps.
- Track pending claims and chase any missing approvals or information.
- Support accounts payable activities such as invoice handling and supplier payments when needed.
- Assist with reconciling expense-related accounts and contribute to month-end reporting.
- Keep finance records and supporting paperwork organised and accurate.
- Look for ways to strengthen expense processes and internal controls.
- Ensure work aligns with company policies, tax obligations, and audit expectations.
- Provide broader administrative and finance assistance to the Finance team as required.
What You Should Bring
- Prior experience in an Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable, Finance Administration, or similar finance position.
- Hands-on experience with expense claims, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
- Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of financial controls and expense management workflows.
- Experience using accounting and expense management software.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Confidence dealing with stakeholders across different levels of the business.
- A courteous, patient, and professional manner in person and on the phone.
- A team-oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
