Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to become a part of our experienced team at the SMARTPLY facility in Belview, near Waterford.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions relating to both accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring sound financial control and effective administrative support.
- Handle the accounts receivable customer receipts processes for both MEDITE and SMARTPLY, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support release of suspense accounts, conduct reconciliations, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Oversee all other cashbook transactions, including conducting daily bank reconciliations.
- Provide assistance and coverage to other accounts receivable team members as needed.
- Take responsibility for transport-related accounts payable processing, ensuring invoices and creditor statements are handled accurately and promptly.
- Offer support to accounts payable colleagues, including invoice processing and creditor statement reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and legal requirements.
- Keep detailed and accurate records in support of audits and compliance procedures.
- Engage in business-wide initiatives such as system upgrades, process enhancement projects, and other finance-related assignments.
- Collaborate effectively within the MEDITE SMARTPLY Group to unify processes, achieve corporate goals, and advance continuous improvement efforts.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Minimum of one year experience in a high-volume, target-oriented manufacturing setting.
- Excellent organizational capabilities with a strong focus on detail.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing schedules to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Effective communication skills coupled with relationship-building aptitude.
- Proven ability to manage and meet deadlines consistently.
