Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Accounts Assistant will primarily manage accounts receivable activities while supporting various other finance functions. This general finance role requires accuracy and proficiency in processing financial data, maintaining records, billing, and following up on payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify accuracy of financial documents, postings, and figures
- Organize and securely maintain all financial records, including cash and cash equivalents, following established procedures
- Record, access, and analyze computerized financial data efficiently
- Classify, code, and summarize financial information using journals, ledgers, or digital systems
- Prepare, audit, and distribute various financial, accounting, auditing, payroll, and statistical reports
- Generate, review, reconcile, and issue invoices, bills, and account statements per company guidelines
- Manage outstanding accounts receivable and vendor invoices, pursuing resolution and payment collection as needed
Candidate Qualifications
- Postsecondary credentials in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields
- Advanced computer skills including experience with Opera, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail ensuring precise data handling and reporting
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within teams
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, auditing, and reconciliation competencies
- Excellent organizational skills for timely task completion under pressure
- Enthusiasm for learning and growth within hotel finance functions
