Role overview
CPi Biotech is hiring an Accounting Technician/Clerk to join its team in Little Island, Cork. This is a permanent role based at the company’s headquarters, with an office-based working arrangement. The position is suited to candidates looking for part-time or reduced hours, and it can be arranged as a three- or four-day work week for the right person.
The role focuses on keeping financial records accurate and up to date, supporting day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, and assisting with reporting and budget tracking. It calls for more than five years of bookkeeping experience, strong experience using Sage, a careful approach to data entry, and the ability to work to tight reporting deadlines.

Accounts payable
- Check supplier invoices for accuracy, assign them to the correct ledger codes, and obtain the needed approvals.
- Prepare and run weekly or twice-weekly payment cycles on schedule.
- Match vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and work with suppliers to resolve billing issues.
Accounts receivable
- Create and issue client invoices promptly and accurately.
- Track receivables aging, record incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances to help maintain cash flow.
- Prepare bank lodgements and ensure all receipts are properly recorded.
Financial reporting
- Keep the general ledger accurate by posting transactions correctly.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Support management by comparing department spending with budgeted figures.
Qualifications and skills
- At least 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
- Strong accuracy and careful attention to detail in data entry work.
- Good organisational ability and the capacity to handle month-end deadlines.
