Accounting Specialist

About the Role

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist for a remote contract position. This role, part of the 'Super Star Program', involves providing expert-level accounting advice and strategic insights to a core team. You will consult on client calls, collaborate with technical staff on research, and develop scenarios to optimize accounting processes. A key aspect of this position is assessing and articulating risks beyond mere compliance, identifying potential organizational impacts, and translating complex financial information for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to the core team on intricate accounting issues and critical business decisions.
• Offer consultation during client calls to assess and provide insights into potential new business opportunities.
• Work alongside technical personnel to inform new research initiatives with specialized accounting knowledge.
• Develop and examine sample scenarios and tasks designed to enhance and refine accounting workflows.
• Evaluate and communicate risks that extend beyond regulatory compliance, proactively spotting potential effects on the organization.
• Convert intricate financial data and associated risks into understandable recommendations for individuals outside of finance departments.

Requirements

• Possess expert judgment for navigating ambiguous accounting challenges and organizational uncertainties.
• Exhibit outstanding abilities in prioritizing tasks and solving problems effectively under demanding circumstances.
• Demonstrate a strong track record of conveying complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
• Show a significant degree of ownership and responsibility for results and choices made.
• Have extensive experience in compliance, reconciliation, and risk evaluation within fast-paced settings.
• Bring a deep level of expertise in financial analysis, particularly for high-stakes and rapidly changing situations.
