Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Kingston is centered on the accounts payable function. The Accounting Officer will handle vendor invoice processing, confirm that invoices are accurate and properly approved, and make sure suppliers are paid on time. The role also includes reconciling vendor balances, tracking aging, addressing and resolving variances with suppliers and internal teams, supporting month-end close, and helping prepare payables and cash flow reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage supplier invoices within the accounts payable workflow.
  • Check invoices for accuracy and verify that the required approvals are in place.
  • Ensure payments are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Match and reconcile vendor accounts and investigate outstanding differences.
  • Review aging schedules and follow up on overdue items.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve payment-related issues.
  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Support month-end closing activities and related financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing reports on accounts payable and cash flow.
  • Follow company procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with finance colleagues to improve payables processes and systems.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting within a medium-sized or large organization.
  • AAT, ACCA, CA, CPA, or CGA qualification is preferred; active student status in one of these is also acceptable.
  • Prior exposure to inventory accounting and stock tracking is an advantage.
  • Experience in telematics or another technology-focused environment will be considered a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of operational and technical accounting concepts.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a busy environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong spoken, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities and working well under pressure.
  • Advanced Excel ability, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and similar functions.
  • Detail-focused, analytical, and practical in finding solutions.
  • Maintains high ethical standards and demonstrates a professional, proactive attitude.
