Job description

Position Overview

The Accounting Assistant position is integral to supporting the Corporate Accountant with daily financial operations, accounts payable activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling administrative duties. This role requires a detail-focused and organized individual capable of working both independently and collaboratively while safeguarding the confidentiality and precision of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting tasks and administrative functions.
  • Support accounts payable operations including invoice verification, approval tracking, data input, and organizing documentation.
  • Ensure precise management of invoice, payment, vendor, and financial records.
  • Help with processes related to vendor setup and maintenance.
  • Compile reports, perform reconciliations, and prepare financial summaries when needed.
  • Support credit card reconciliations and handle expense reports.
  • Contribute to payroll-related reconciliation administrative duties.
  • Track outstanding invoices and assist with follow-up procedures.
  • Maintain an orderly and efficient electronic and physical filing system.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Corporate Accountant and other teams as required.
  • Manage data entry, reporting, and document control tasks.
  • Execute any additional related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar fields preferred.
  • Between one and three years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or administrative support roles.
  • Prior experience specifically in accounting or accounts payable functions is advantageous.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential financial information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Zoho Books and ERP systems is beneficial.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
