Job description

Role Overview

This position is for a meticulous and analytical accounting professional who will help keep the organization’s financial operations accurate, organized, and compliant. The role centers on maintaining reliable accounting data, preparing reports, and supporting financial governance and day-to-day finance work.

Core Duties

You will handle accounting entries, keep the general ledger current, create journal entries, and reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts. The role also covers support for accounts payable and accounts receivable, monitoring cash-related transactions, maintaining proper backup records, and contributing to monthly and annual closing activities.

In addition, you will prepare financial statements, management reports, account reconciliation reports, budget tracking summaries, and financial analyses that help guide business decisions. You will also support internal and external audits, help maintain accounting policy compliance and internal financial controls, and assist with tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting as needed.

Collaboration and Process Improvement

The role works closely with different teams to resolve accounting matters, improve finance processes, strengthen documentation, and identify ways to enhance efficiency and internal control effectiveness. A high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism is essential.

Qualifications and Knowledge

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a similar field is required. Professional certification in accounting or finance is considered an added advantage.

Applicants should have a solid grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, bookkeeping, budgeting, and internal control concepts, along with practical familiarity with general ledger work, payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, financial reporting, and close processes. Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support is also important.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is expected. Exposure to accounting software, ERP platforms, financial management systems, or reporting tools will be beneficial.

Personal Attributes

The ideal candidate brings strong numerical and analytical ability, careful attention to detail, good organization, and sound problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbal communication, integrity, discretion, adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team are key qualities.

Additional Information

Applicants should be proactive, willing to learn, and committed to ongoing professional growth and process improvement.
