Role overview

We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to help manage bookkeeping, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting work. In this position, you will keep financial records accurate, support the preparation of financial statements, and help ensure all accounting activities follow internal policies and applicable standards.

What you will do

Your work will include routine accounting tasks such as entering financial transactions, reconciling accounts, handling invoices, and contributing to month-end and year-end closing activities. You will coordinate with finance colleagues to keep financial information complete, accurate, and delivered on time.

Other core duties include updating accounting records, supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, carrying out bank reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will also help prepare financial reports, support audit work, and make sure accounting processes remain compliant with relevant rules and standards.

In addition, you may review financial data, spot inconsistencies, and suggest improvements that make finance operations more efficient and reliable. You will work with internal teams to keep financial workflows running smoothly and provide dependable information for business decisions.

Additional duties

The role may also involve posting general ledger entries, preparing documents related to tax matters, assisting with financial analysis, and organizing records needed for internal or external audits. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, accountable, and committed to accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications and experience

  • A solid grasp of core accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and reconcile accounting records with confidence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP tools is beneficial.
  • Strong focus on precision and data accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to review financial information and detect errors or inconsistencies.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Good time management and organizational abilities.
  • Comfort managing several tasks at once while meeting deadlines.
  • Exposure to tax compliance and audit procedures is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a finance team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Professional conduct, integrity, and the ability to safeguard confidential information.
  • Willingness to learn new accounting systems and finance tools.
