Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to play a key role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting and reporting. This position entails maintaining meticulous financial records, preparing essential reports, assisting with account reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain precise accounting records and manage general ledger transactions effectively.
- Prepare and handle journal entries, invoices, payment processing, receipts, and related financial documents.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and balance sheets.
- Assist with closing activities at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
- Create financial statements, management reports, and detailed supporting schedules.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, as well as cash flow monitoring.
- Validate financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and accuracy.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning efforts.
- Maintain records for fixed assets and update depreciation schedules when necessary.
- Assist internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding efficiently to audit inquiries.
- Analyze financial data for discrepancies and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control procedures.
- Organize and safeguard confidential financial records.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to align financial activities with business goals.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects to boost accounting efficiency and accuracy of reports.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping methods.
- Familiarity with financial statements, general ledger management, and reconciliation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is preferred.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical aptitude and keen attention to detail.
- Capability to detect inaccuracies and resolve accounting issues effectively.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
