Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant/Financial Accountant to aid our financial operations, manage accounting procedures, and ensure precise financial reporting. This position focuses on maintaining comprehensive financial records, creating various reports, assisting in reconciliations, and adhering to established accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records along with general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial documents.
  • Carry out reconciliations of bank accounts, ledgers, and balance sheets.
  • Assist in closing procedures during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
  • Draft financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and manage cash flow operations.
  • Verify financial transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
  • Maintain records of fixed assets and manage depreciation schedules where applicable.
  • Support both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing information requests.
  • Analyze financial data to spot discrepancies and suggest improvements in processes.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Organize financial documents while safeguarding confidential information.
  • Work collaboratively across finance, operations, and other departments to support corporate objectives.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at improving accounting efficiency and enhancing reporting accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping.
  • Knowledgeable about financial statements, ledger accounting, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Experience or familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Well-versed in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analytical methods.
  • Strong analytical and numerical aptitude with keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to detect discrepancies and accurately resolve accounting issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling financial data.
  • Ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
