Role overview
CECA Audit & Conseil is looking for a meticulous and well-organized Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to help run day-to-day accounting tasks and maintain the reliability of financial records. The role focuses on keeping documentation accurate, supporting reporting activities, reconciling accounts, and working in line with internal controls and accounting standards.
The selected person will partner with finance and business stakeholders to support financial operations, improve the quality of reporting, and contribute to efficient accounting workflows. This position also provides exposure to a wide range of accounting duties and offers the chance to grow professionally while supporting the organization’s financial stability.
Key responsibilities
- Keep accounting records and financial documents current, complete, and well maintained.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable entries accurately and within required timelines.
- Carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet items, and the general ledger.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Help prepare financial statements, management reporting, and supporting schedules.
- Check financial information and confirm accounting entries are recorded correctly.
- Track and investigate discrepancies, variances, and other accounting issues.
- Organize records properly and maintain documentation suitable for audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis when needed.
- Work with internal teams to collect financial data and support operational needs.
- Follow accounting standards, legal or regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
- Recommend or support process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required. The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting. Strong Excel skills and general proficiency with Microsoft Office are important, along with familiarity using accounting software and financial systems.
This role also calls for strong numerical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Attention to detail, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines are essential. Good written and spoken communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a professional approach to confidentiality and integrity are also expected. A willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities, and support ongoing improvement efforts is important.
