Role overview

The organization is looking for a careful, self-driven Accountant to handle and support everyday financial activities in Ghana. This position is important for keeping communication smooth with banks and internal stakeholders, while making sure processes follow company rules and financial best practices. The right person will be well organized, quick to respond, and motivated to develop in a fast-moving financial setting.

What you will do

  • Handle day-to-day finance tasks such as reconciliations, reporting, and maintaining supporting records.
  • Follow up with partner banks and keep track of updates and communication.
  • Check that financial paperwork aligns with internal policies and required standards.
  • Work with internal teams to collect financial information and prepare periodic reports.
  • Support the setup of new financial partners by organizing and gathering the needed documents.
  • Keep financial records well structured so they remain ready for audits.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams to improve accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Monitor basic regulatory changes affecting finance operations and raise issues when needed.
  • Make sure all required company tax returns are filed on time.
  • Serve as the company’s legal representative when needed for banking, regulatory, tax, and corporate matters.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Applicants must be nationals of the country.
  • Membership in ICAG is required.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a finance-related position is needed.
  • Good working knowledge of financial operations, reconciliations, and reporting is important.
  • Strong attention to detail, solid organizational ability, and the capacity to meet deadlines are essential.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets, along with basic finance tools, is expected.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to support audit activities and coordinate with external auditors is needed.
  • Familiarity with local tax compliance obligations is required.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the role is important.
  • Candidates must be willing and eligible to act as the company’s legal representative.
