Job description
About the company
The organisation is focused on helping farmers and graziers operate more productively and sustainably by replacing many of the time-heavy parts of traditional farming with a smarter, technology-led approach. Its customers use the platform to modernise grazing, improve outcomes, and reduce dependence on conventional tools and routines. The culture is built around meaningful work, high performance, and tackling difficult problems with a team that aims to out-think, out-work, and out-care.
The business is supported by leading investors, reflecting strong backing for its long-term mission. It is committed to creating real impact for farming businesses and the wider industry.
Role overview
This position is for a high-performing Account Manager to support growth in the Western Southland region. The role is centered on customer success, account growth, and long-term relationship building with some of New Zealand’s strongest dairy farming businesses. You will be the main contact for customers, helping them realise value from the platform and supporting the broader transformation of how they farm.
The role is based anywhere within Western Southland and involves frequent travel across the region.
What the job involves
- Take ownership of retention, renewal, and expansion goals for existing regional revenue.
- Help farmers get maximum value from the platform so they can achieve their business goals and understand its impact on their operations.
- Manage customer accounts by renewing agreements and identifying opportunities to grow existing revenue through added value.
- Support deployment by guiding onboarding, training, and implementation on farm so that owners, managers, and workers can use the system effectively.
- Build trustworthy and long-term relationships with farmers, their teams, and families.
- Work with customers to define business objectives, timeframes, priorities, and success measures.
- Respond quickly to technical and operational issues with practical support and clear communication.
- Represent the brand locally, contribute to discussion groups, and strengthen community networks and visibility.
- Act as the customer’s voice and share field-level insights with internal product teams.
- Provide farmer-informed technical and practical input across reproduction, pasture, and agronomy topics.
- Support colleagues, contribute positively to the team culture, and model the company’s operating principles.
What is needed
- Three to five years of experience in relationship management or account management.
- Background in dairy farming or the agriculture sector, along with a strong commitment to helping farmers succeed.
- Solid commercial judgement and business awareness.
- A constructive, team-oriented mindset and the ability to work through challenges.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with a high level of independence.
- Ambition to achieve strong results and keep developing professionally.
Benefits
- Health insurance support through Southern Cross Health Insurance.
- Six months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers.
- Four weeks of fully paid leave for secondary caregivers, plus additional family-friendly support.
- Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
- A $1,000 personal growth fund to support learning and development.
