Role overview

The Advertiser Success Team partners with CPG advertisers to build, manage, and grow ecommerce campaigns. This Account Manager role is focused on delivering strong performance outcomes for Instacart’s advertising products through campaign optimization, upselling, and clear communication of value to partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sales team to build reliable relationships with CPG partners.
  • Act as the primary contact for both pre-sale and post-sale work, including planning media, tracking campaigns, optimizing performance, and sharing results.
  • Design media plans that align with partner objectives and recommend suitable ad products.
  • Send weekly performance updates to advertisers and suggest improvements that help campaigns reach KPI targets.
  • Run regular cadence calls with CPG clients to share campaign and category insights using a data-led approach.
  • Translate data into clear stories that demonstrate the effect of advertising campaigns.
  • Present category trends and advertiser-specific business insights in a compelling way.
  • Identify and propose cross-sell and upsell opportunities proactively.
  • Represent the partner during pilots and internal cross-functional feedback discussions.
  • Prepare campaign wrap reports with next steps and actionable conclusions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to build Quarterly Business Reviews and present campaign findings to advertisers with strong analytical thinking.
  • Build a deep understanding of Instacart’s full-funnel ad strategy and evolving product suite.
  • Take part in gap-to-goal planning and manage quota across multiple business units.

Candidate profile

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a BA/BS in business, advertising, commerce, digital marketing, or a similar area is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing strong client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Drive tools (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Salesforce, and Tableau; familiarity with Mode is an advantage.
  • Understanding of paid search, display, account management, ad serving, CPG, or ecommerce.
  • Ability to stay organized, handle several priorities, and take initiative in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfort in an external-facing position with confident communication for advertisers and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to analyze data and present insights clearly in client conversations.

Compensation and benefits

This position is remote and includes a market-competitive compensation package. Pay depends on permanent work location and may vary by state. The role includes a sales incentive plan, with variable pay tied to individual sales performance and paid according to the applicable incentive plan terms. It is also eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.

US base pay range

  • Washington: USD 86,000 to 91,000
  • Oregon, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Hawaii: USD 82,000 to 87,500
  • All other states: USD 74,000 to 79,000
  • California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey: USD 90,000 to 95,000

OTE range

The on-target earnings range for this role is USD 99,500 to 126,500.
