Job description

About LiveRem

LiveRem provides live pay intelligence that brings real-time compensation data into one trusted view for HR, finance, senior leadership and boards. Because the platform connects directly with payroll and HR systems, organisations in Australia and New Zealand can benchmark pay against the market with day-level accuracy.

The product helps replace outdated salary surveys with current, self-serve benchmarking and also supports pay equity reviews, salary band creation, compliance reporting and workforce insights. The business uses an automation-first, AI-enabled way of working, with a strong focus on reducing manual effort and making complex work easier for both customers and the team. The company operates fully remotely.

The role

This Account Executive position owns the sales cycle from the moment a meeting is booked. You will run demos, carry out discovery, manage objections, handle pricing discussions and close the deal. The SDR team is already generating qualified meetings, so the main focus of the role is converting that demand into signed customers.

The founder has handled this sale so far, which means you will step into a tested pitch and a warm stream of booked meetings rather than starting from scratch. The expectation is that you will learn the existing approach, adapt it into your own style and move opportunities across the finish line. Closing is the priority, while targeted cold outreach will be used to supplement your own pipeline between meetings and follow-ups.

This is a consultative, insight-driven sales role. The central message is that buyer assumptions about pay are often confident but inaccurate, and LiveRem's live data provides a stronger basis for decisions. Success in this role depends on credibility, composure under pressure and the ability to protect value without losing the sale.

Company vision, values and principles

LiveRem's vision is to make live pay data the common language in every boardroom so that People teams, Finance and boards rely on the same trusted source.

  • Values: make difficult things simple, move with urgency and act sustainably.
  • Guiding principles: targeted flexibility, growth mindset, experimentation and a profit-driven approach.

Key responsibilities

As the Account Executive, you will manage demos, discovery, closing, pipeline ownership, outbound prospecting and process improvement.

  • Deliver product demos that clearly connect the platform's data to the customer's specific pay challenge.
  • Lead discovery conversations and qualify opportunities rigorously so your time is focused on deals with the best chance of closing.
  • Adapt each demo to the buyer and their situation instead of relying on a fixed presentation.
  • Take ownership of deals from booked meeting through to the point the customer is onboarded.
  • Navigate objections and commercial or legal resistance while holding firm on price where appropriate.
  • Conduct pricing discussions within agreed boundaries.
  • Use customer outcomes and results as proof points during live deals, and convert wins into referrals and case studies.
  • Run the full pipeline in Pipedrive with strong discipline and reliable forecasting.
  • Keep notes, next steps and follow-ups up to date so opportunities do not stall.
  • Share honest updates on pipeline health and conversion, including deals that are not progressing.
  • Carry out targeted outbound prospecting by phone, email and LinkedIn between demos and follow-ups.
  • Develop your own pipeline around the ideal customer profile, in addition to the meetings generated by SDRs.
  • Coordinate cleanly with SDRs in Pipedrive so outreach remains organised and accounts are not contacted twice.
  • Identify where the sales process is creating friction and suggest improvements.
  • Use automation and AI tools to reduce manual admin and follow-up work.
  • Share repeated objections and buying patterns to strengthen the pitch and inform the product team.

Candidate profile

This role is suited to a lean, remote team environment where ownership and results matter. The ideal candidate is a self-directed closer who is comfortable building pipeline and operating with discipline.

  • Two to four years of experience closing B2B SaaS deals, ideally in SMB or mid-market, with consistent quota attainment; account management or renewals experience alone will not be enough.
  • Confidence and willingness to prospect, including building pipeline from cold through phone, email and LinkedIn rather than relying only on handed-over meetings.
  • A consultative selling approach with the ability to challenge buyer assumptions using data.
  • Strong self-motivation, independence and discipline.
  • Executive presence for commercial conversations with HR leaders and senior decision-makers.
  • Solid CRM habits, with pipeline management done in the CRM rather than spreadsheets; the team uses Pipedrive.
  • Ability to manage follow-up and forecasting effectively in a remote setting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilience when facing objections or rejection, plus a calm approach under pressure.
  • Comfort using AI tools and learning how to apply them to improve the sales process.
  • Experience as an early sales hire and comfort in helping shape process rather than only following one that already exists.
  • Proven ability and willingness to learn.
  • Bonus value: familiarity with a structured sales method such as MEDDPICC.
  • Bonus value: experience selling HR technology, payroll, or data and analytics solutions.

Additional notes

You do not need to arrive with deep compensation expertise. What matters is that you sell credibly, learn quickly and take ownership of your number. The role offers the opportunity to work directly with the founders, influence how the business sells and build on top of a proven sales motion.

Remuneration and benefits

  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commission and accelerators above target; OTE will be confirmed with shortlisted candidates.
  • Open to candidates based in New Zealand or Australia who are eligible to work in either country.
  • Fully remote working setup.
  • A proven pitch and qualified meetings from the first day.
  • Mentoring, training and support from the founder and industry specialists.
  • Direct access to leadership and meaningful influence over the sales approach.
  • Uncapped earning potential tied to closed deals.

Role details

Location: Remote, New Zealand based; an office can be arranged by agreement. Seniority: Mid to senior. Reporting line: Chief Technology Officer.
