About the Role

Ruder Finn is a large independent global communications and integrated marketing agency recognized for creative thinking, strategic strength, and continued momentum. The agency has earned recent industry recognition, including Large Agency of the Year at the 2026 PRWeek U.S. Awards and a place on PRWeek’s Best Places to Work list.

The organization is seeking an Account Executive to join its Healthcare Practice and support communications programs for healthcare clients. This position focuses on helping execute campaigns that build disease awareness, spotlight data milestones, and support social and influencer initiatives that shape conversations in the healthcare space.

In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders, clients, and integrated teams to manage everyday account work, contribute ideas, and help deliver programs that align with client objectives. The team values curiosity, accuracy, and original thinking.

Preferred locations include New York, Illinois, and California.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, refine, and polish a range of client-facing and external materials such as press releases, social posts, blog content, pitch letters, fact sheets, speeches, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Build a strong understanding of each client’s business, market position, products and services, customer base, competitors, and overall strategy.
  • Develop engaging social media content and apply a practical understanding of platform guidance across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Partner with studio and creative teams to produce strong content and campaign assets.
  • Support media relations work by tracking coverage, identifying relevant trends and stories, building media lists, creating analysis reports with tools like Cision, TrendKite, and Google Alerts, and conducting outreach to media contacts.
  • Maintain daily communication with clients and prospects, work closely with the broader team to advance client goals, contribute strategic recommendations, anticipate issues, and help ensure deadlines and budgets are met.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in communications or public relations; healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong capability in writing, speaking, and presenting.
  • Working knowledge of the MLR review process, including experience with tools such as Veeva.
  • Basic understanding of data and regulatory processes, including clinical trial stages and FDA approval pathways.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once and perform well under tight or competing deadlines.
  • Curiosity and comfort using AI tools within communications workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of assigned work.

Perks and Benefits

  • Competitive base pay with bonus potential.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage, plus company-paid life insurance and a flexible spending account.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Monthly allowance for cell phone and office-related expenses.
  • Generous paid time off, including paid maternity and paternity leave.
  • Transit benefits.
  • Professional learning and development support.
  • Flexibility in the workplace.
  • Opportunities for both on-site and off-site social events.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $57,000 to $67,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as education, internal equity, location, relevant experience, certifications, skills, and other job-related qualifications. Additional medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement match, paid time off, and related benefits may also be available.

Equal Opportunity

The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy or related medical conditions, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
