Job description
About Phocas Software
Phocas Software is a successful and expanding SaaS business with a strong customer following and a market-leading product. The company is on a growth path from $70M to $250M, supported by a refreshed go-to-market model, making this a strong opportunity to help shape how customer value is delivered in the future.
The culture encourages people to work in ways that suit them best. Whether that means experimenting with fresh sales ideas, taking on projects, making time for life outside work, or pursuing personal passions, the business is set up to support that balance. The aim is to help people feel less stressed, perform better, and bring more energy to both work and life.
Role overview
As an Account Executive, you will manage the complete sales journey. You will develop your own territory, win new business, and take responsibility for helping customers get off to a strong start. This is a role suited to someone who wants ownership across the full process, not just the final stage of closing deals.
You will work directly with buyers and run your own sales process, while receiving support from BDR, Marketing, Customer Success, and Account Management teams. Your contribution will extend beyond your personal quota and into the long-term health of the customer base.
If you are looking for a sales position where the work has clear impact, this role offers that opportunity.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the entire sales cycle for new business, from prospecting through to deal closure.
- Develop and grow your territory by targeting the right accounts with a focused approach.
- Deliver product demonstrations and buyer conversations tailored to each prospect’s needs.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiate agreements to secure signed business.
- Maintain a clean, accurate pipeline and keep the CRM consistently updated.
- Collaborate with BDR and Marketing teams to turn leads into qualified opportunities.
- Work closely with Customer Success to ensure new customers are onboarded effectively and begin seeing value quickly.
What you need
- A demonstrated record of achieving targets in a full-cycle sales environment.
- Strong commercial judgement and confident negotiation capability.
- Excellent skills in building relationships, communicating, and facilitating discussions.
- A customer-focused mindset with solid problem-solving ability.
- Strong organisation and disciplined pipeline management.
- Curiosity, resilience, and motivation to create lasting customer value.
- Genuine interest in technology, learning, and alignment with Phocas values.
Work style
This position is based onsite in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and is a full-time role.
