Role Overview
The Account Based Marketing (ABM) Specialist is responsible for guiding and coaching team members to deliver outstanding service to BMO customers and prospects. The role demands understanding customer needs and providing tailored financial advice and products that align with their objectives. This position involves supporting sales and service functions to achieve strategic goals in line with legal, regulatory, and internal bank policies.

- Analyze customer financial needs in personal banking and credit card products, incorporating marketing initiatives strategically.
- Manage service requests and resolve issues promptly while escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Enhance the bank’s community presence by networking and participating in local activities to build referral sources.
- Support and participate in BMO’s community involvement initiatives.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of retail banking services and product trends to offer sound advice and solve customer problems effectively.
- Contribute to business and market planning to identify and optimize opportunities.
- Establish partnerships with related business units and external contacts to stay informed of policies and processes.
- Review performance outcomes regularly against targets and formulate improvement plans.
- Provide technical training and operational support to branch staff to foster sales effectiveness.
- Handle customer transactions with accuracy or direct customers to appropriate internal groups.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence.
- Identify suspicious activities related to money laundering and report accordingly.
- Exercise sound judgment and take calculated risks in alignment with the bank's risk management framework and approved appetite.
- Propose innovative solutions and work independently while accepting broader responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience complemented by a post-secondary degree, or equivalent education and experience.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in banking, customer service, or sales sectors.
- Preferably experience in supervisory or management roles.
- General understanding of retail banking products, services, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with branch operation processes, relevant technologies, and performance metrics.
- Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influencing capabilities.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $43,200 to $80,300 annually, with variability influenced by location, skill set, experience, and education. Compensation may also include commission structures, performance incentives, and discretionary bonuses.
