Position Overview

Due to maternity leave, Everton Women’s Academy seeks a Physiotherapist dedicated to delivering exceptional physiotherapy care to players, facilitating treatment and all rehabilitation phases. Responsibilities include coordinating medical services on match days, organizing screening programs, and implementing prehabilitation and rehabilitation strategies. The role requires high professional standards, constant updating of knowledge and qualifications in areas such as physiotherapy practice, anti-doping regulations, equity and inclusion, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and workplace health and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy treatments covering the full rehabilitation pathway for female academy football players.
  • Coordinate medical support during match days.
  • Organize and execute screening, prehabilitation, and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Maintain and upload medical data onto Kitman Labs software.
  • Lead department input on the Professional Game Academy Accreditation Criteria (PGAAC).
  • Uphold professional practice by keeping qualifications current and complying with regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in elite sports environments or suitable sports therapy background.
  • Comprehensive understanding of injury prevention and rehabilitation principles for elite football athletes.
  • Ability to manage rehabilitation programs for multiple players simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning demands for high-level footballers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work supportively and professionally with players of all ages.
  • Accurate medico-legal documentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to training sessions, matches, and tournaments.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Full membership of a recognized professional physiotherapy organization.
  • Adequate professional indemnity insurance.
  • FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) certification.
  • Membership in the Society of Sport Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Completion of United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) Clean Sport Essentials and Introduction to Clean Sport courses.

Additional Information

This role is contracted for 12 months on a fixed-term basis, requiring 35 hours of work weekly. The primary workplace is Finch Farm Training Facility, Halewood, Liverpool, with travel obligations to various sites for matches and events.
