Job description
Job Overview
The Academic Advisor will be responsible for delivering standardized classroom teaching and student support services, overseeing assessments, managing academic staff, and supporting center operations and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach main classes according to an established curriculum using engaging and effective instructional methods.
- Conduct supplementary sessions both online and offline to reinforce and extend student learning.
- Provide personalized tutoring in small groups or one-on-one, monitoring individual progress.
- Administer placement tests, follow up with academic consultations for students and parents to determine course placement.
- Conduct midterm and final speaking assessments in-person or online, and grade writing and speaking assignments via LMS.
- Manage retests and makeup assessments as needed.
- Recruit, guide, supervise, and coach teaching assistants to maintain effective classroom support and adherence to policies.
- Oversee tutoring sessions to guarantee quality and consistency with academic goals.
- Attend weekly center meetings and academic advisor meetings for updates, training, and sharing best practices.
- Support academic workshops, student activities, ceremonies, and other center events.
- Design model lesson plans and assist in the execution of educational programs.
- Plan and organize extracurricular activities like clubs and academic contests.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and host departmental events as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Teacher or Academic Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
- English proficiency demonstrated by IELTS score of 7.5 or above.
- Valid teaching certification such as CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent if holding a degree in another field.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- At least six months of teaching experience in IELTS, SAT, TOEFL, or General English.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to accomplish goals.
Working Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 3 PM to 9 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 8 AM to 5 PM
