Role Summary

As an AB Seaman at Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island, part of the Minor Hotels portfolio, you will support the safe and effective running of marine vessels. The role involves handling deck work, keeping vessels in good condition, and working closely with the Boat Skipper to help deliver excellent guest experiences.

Key Duties

• Support vessel movement and operations safely while following the direction of the Boat Skipper.
• Carry out deck tasks such as mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling in line with safety procedures.
• Work alongside the engineering team on routine upkeep to keep vessels operating properly.
• Escalate faults, damage, or repair needs to the relevant team without delay.
• Apply and uphold all safety rules, procedures, and operational guidelines to maintain a secure marine environment.
• Take part in scheduled safety drills and be ready to respond during emergencies.
• Assist guests while boarding and leaving the vessel to ensure a smooth experience.
• Help with water sports operations and ensure equipment is used safely.
• Keep vessels clean, including decks, cabins, and shared areas.
• Follow hygiene and sanitation practices to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Manage deck tools and equipment carefully, including proper storage and upkeep.
• Support the correct stowage of safety gear and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid AB Seaman certification.
• Prior experience working as an AB Seaman is required, ideally within hospitality or marine tourism.
• Basic knowledge of vessel handling and seamanship is needed.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are important.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and emergency response practices is expected.
• Ability to handle physically demanding work in different weather conditions.
