Role Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the skipper and assisting with all delegated tasks.
- Maintaining vigilant watch alongside the skipper on all trips to comply with collision prevention regulations.
- Taking active part in drills and emergency procedures, responding effectively as per assigned duties.
- Identifying and reporting any unsafe activity to the skipper promptly.
- Participating in cleanliness and maintenance tasks ensuring the vessel is always prepared to receive passengers.
- Maintaining adequate supplies of cleaning materials on board at all times.
- Cleaning the exterior of the boat after every trip and performing thorough cleaning at shift end.
- Keeping luggage compartments tidy and organized throughout operations.
- Completing passenger manifests before departure and notifying the skipper accordingly.
- Safely handling all lost and found items by handing them over to the skipper.
- Providing thorough handovers to subsequent shifts, including any encountered issues.
- Upholding strict personal hygiene and ensuring uniform is maintained in impeccable condition.
- Managing safe berthing and un-berthing procedures along with line handling responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a valid AB Seaman Certificate, including a valid CDC with AB (II/4) qualification, valid STCW credentials, and a medical fitness report confirming ability to work at sea.
- Demonstrated experience as an AB Seaman, ideally in hospitality or marine tourism environments.
- Basic knowledge of vessel navigation and seamanship principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks under various weather conditions.
