Overview
This role is intended for experienced current or former A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operators (AROs) who also bring teaching, mentoring, or training experience. The position focuses on delivering high-standard instruction to AROs working on the Airbus A330 MRTT platform, with an emphasis on safety, operational effectiveness, and mission readiness.
What you will do
- Lead training sessions in the classroom, simulator, and during airborne operations for A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operators.
- Teach the A330 MRTT refueling suite, including the Aerial Refueling Boom System (ARBS), Wing Air Refueling Pods (WARP), Fuselage Refueling Unit (FRU), and Remote Vision System (RVS).
- Run qualification, continuation, and proficiency assessments and training.
- Review trainee performance and provide coaching along with corrective guidance where needed.
- Help build and improve lesson plans, syllabi, simulator exercises, and other training materials.
- Ensure training delivery aligns with operational procedures, safety standards, and required compliance measures.
- Encourage Crew Resource Management (CRM), human factors awareness, and strong instructional practice.
- Assist with mission planning, briefings, debriefings, and readiness support.
- Keep training documentation and records accurate and up to date.
Requirements
- Current or previous operational background as an A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operator.
- Substantial hands-on experience in air-to-air refueling missions.
- Prior experience in instruction, mentoring, or training is strongly preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of A330 MRTT refueling systems, especially ARBS, WARP, FRU, and RVS.
- Good understanding of aerial refueling procedures, operational rules, and safety expectations.
- Experience delivering simulator-based and live-flight instruction is an advantage.
- Minimum education level: high school diploma.
- Education in aviation, aerospace, engineering, or military fields is preferred.
- Must be a qualified A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operator.
- MRTT instructor qualification is preferred.
- CRM and human factors training is required.
- Valid aircrew medical certification, where applicable, is required.
- Must be eligible for the necessary security clearance.
- Must be willing to travel and support deployments when operationally needed.
Work environment
- Training may take place in classrooms, simulators, and flight operations.
- The role involves both domestic and international travel.
- Schedules may follow operational flying patterns, including occasional night duties.
- The position supports military aviation training activities.
