Role Overview

We are seeking a talented 3D & Motion Designer to craft a fresh visual language through motion design. No prior AI expertise is required; instead, we value exceptional taste and craftsmanship capable of producing in-product animations, 3D assets, environmental installations, and product visualizations. Collaborating directly with the Founder, you will advance the brand identity by generating animations, 3D components, and motion elements that integrate into the product and physical spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement motion and 3D experiences within the consumer application, including animations, transitions, and spatial elements.
• Convert digital concepts into physical and spatial formats such as animated installations, product visualizations, and environmental art.
• Create visual materials for diverse applications, spanning social media, marketing campaigns, office environments, and large-scale displays.
• Explore motion, lighting, rotation, and three-dimensional existence of an existing 2D brand system.
• Work closely with the Founder to interpret brand directives and deliver high-quality outcomes rapidly and accurately.
• Innovate creatively within the constraints of an established design system, balancing rules with imaginative possibilities.

Required Qualifications

• A demonstrable portfolio showcasing outstanding 3D design skills, including modeling, lighting, animation, and rendering, backed by a refined aesthetic judgment.
• Strong grasp of graphic design fundamentals such as typography, layout, color theory, and composition, ensuring 3D work remains design-driven.
• Proven experience producing animated 3D content for branding, environmental, or experiential projects.
• Ability to adapt 2D design frameworks into meaningful and consistent 3D renditions.
• Keen attention to detail, especially concerning materials, lighting quality, and realism.
• Comfort collaborating intensively with a founder who actively guides creative decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-end sectors like luxury, fashion, or premium branding, where subtlety and craftsmanship surpass spectacle.
• Background working on environmental or installation designs such as large-scale displays, projection mapping, or immersive spatial experiences.
• Familiarity with real-time 3D or interactive installation art.
• Skill in product visualization and rendering of tangible goods such as merchandise, packaging, or collectibles.
• Understanding of motion design principles, including timing, easing, and expressive brand movement.

Work Location and Compensation

• This position is based on-site in San Francisco, CA.
• Expected salary ranges from $200,000 to $500,000 annually, accompanied by 1% to 5% equity depending on experience.
