Project Overview
This is a contract opportunity to contribute as an animator on a heartfelt 2D animated short film about a cat living in a family-run independent bookstore. The story, approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds long, follows the feline protagonist as she befriends stray cats nearby through sharing her beloved books. The project is a personal venture by a film student aiming to evoke warmth, community spirit, and the enchantment of storytelling using animation techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce a 2D animation short film of about 2 minutes and 30 seconds in length, adhering closely to a provided script and storyboard.
- Create lively and expressive animations for both the main cat character and secondary feline figures.
- Collaborate effectively on narrative storytelling to ensure all emotional and plot moments are clearly conveyed.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions promptly throughout the production phases.
- Provide final animation outputs in specified formats and resolutions suitable for the film.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong proficiency in 2D animation, specifically skilled in using Toon Boom Harmony software.
- Experience animating animal characters with an ability to express emotions through their movements convincingly.
- Good grasp of animation fundamentals such as timing, pacing, and visual narrative techniques for short films.
- Capable of working independently and communicating effectively in a remote work environment.
- Open to animators ranging from beginners to mid-level, provided they showcase relevant portfolio work.
- Availability to begin work immediately and adhere to project deadlines.
