About the Role and Opportunities
Kick start your professional journey with Grant Thornton New Zealand by joining our 2027 Graduate Program in Financial Advisory based in Auckland. Benefit from a workplace culture that embraces flexibility through initiatives like our 9-day fortnight trial without salary reduction, alongside immediate opportunities for professional growth and mentorship from day one. Join a supportive and inclusive team environment where collaborative efforts are valued, and your contributions are encouraged from the start.
Key Responsibilities and Work Environment
As a graduate in our Financial Advisory Services group, you will engage with services including Restructuring & Reorganization, Valuation, and Transaction Advisory for clients. You will be expected to approach challenges analytically, question assumptions thoughtfully, and proactively seek opportunities to enhance both your skills and business impact within our global network spanning over 135 countries.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who are authentic, confident, and approachable, with an ability to build strong relationships and inspire others through their enthusiasm and innovative ideas. Ideal candidates are completing or have recently completed a major in Finance, Accounting, or both, possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrate proactive engagement, adaptability to change, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must also have the right to work in New Zealand and be prepared to pursue relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, CA, or CPA.
Benefits and Support Provided
Our graduates receive a competitive salary aligned with local market standards and a starting bonus. The firm covers membership and module registration fees for professional qualifications, offers paid study leave—including a day off for graduation—and facilitates access to workshops and experts to support your learning. Additional benefits include national induction, buddy and managerial support programs, monthly physical wellbeing allowances, specialized CA study support, immediate client involvement alongside senior partners, volunteer opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and fully funded social clubs.
Application Process
Applications close at midnight on Friday, 21 August, though early application is encouraged due to potential early closing based on volume. Shortlisted candidates will participate in a video interview and online assessments. Successful candidates from assessment stages will be invited for further discussions with our team. Applicants must reside in New Zealand with legal working rights; sponsorships are not available for this role.
