Job description
Role Overview
Berkeley County School District is seeking a custodian for the 2026-2027 school year at the SHS location in the Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan area. This is a part-time, on-site role.
Work Schedule
The position is scheduled for 8 hours per day across 245 employment days in the year.
Compensation
The annual pay range for this role is $32,673 to $48,000.
Application Requirements

- Updated resume
- Proof of a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, or
- At least one year of custodial experience verified on company letterhead and signed by a supervisor, or
- Any comparable mix of education and experience
- Negative TB test results dated within the past year. The district strongly recommends uploading the test results with the application. If the test has not yet been completed, applicants must upload a Word document confirming that the results will be provided once available. Delays in submitting TB results can slow down onboarding if selected.
Selection Process
Applicants chosen for interviews will be contacted within three weeks after the vacancy closes. The district asks candidates not to follow up about interview status. Depending on how many applications are received, not every applicant will be interviewed, and candidates may be considered for more than one opening.
