About the Role
The American Zionist Movement (AZM) is seeking an organized, innovative, and dedicated Programs & Operations Coordinator to manage and support diverse initiatives that enhance engagement with Israel, Zionism, and Jewish communities across the U.S. and Israel. This key role contributes to meaningful educational, leadership, and communal projects while collaborating with leaders from major Jewish Zionist organizations nationwide.
AZM represents 51 national Jewish Zionist organizations, encompassing a broad spectrum of ideological, political, and religious perspectives. As the U.S. Zionist Federation associated with the World Zionist Organization, AZM also oversees the election of American delegates to the Zionist Congress every five years.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational, leadership, advocacy, and community engagement programs in virtual and in-person formats.
- Organize webinars, seminars, conferences, receptions, meetings, and special events, managing all logistical aspects such as registration, venue arrangements, speakers, travel, vendors, materials, and participant communications.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and lead follow-up engagement with participants.
- Collaborate with member organizations and partners to explore joint programming and strategic alliances.
- Lead preparations for AZM’s upcoming Biennial National Assembly, a two-day leadership conference slated approximately 18 months ahead.
- Supervise staff or consultants handling AZM’s social media, communications, and website.
- Coordinate Board of Directors, committees, task forces, and working group meetings, both online and in-person.
- Act as primary staff liaison for several AZM task forces, preparing agendas, presentations, minutes, and follow-ups.
- Maintain robust communication channels with volunteers, member groups, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Support governance activities and organizational initiatives within AZM’s broad network.
- Oversee staff, consultants, and interns related to AZM operations.
- Manage daily office functions, databases, records, contact lists, and CRM systems.
- Assist with financial administration including budget tracking, invoice processing, vendor management, and event-related expenses.
- Maintain project timelines and workflows to ensure objectives are met effectively.
- Contribute to organizational reporting and data collection efforts as needed.
Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated advocate of Israel and Zionism, skilled at engaging diverse Jewish community perspectives and experienced in nonprofit settings working with volunteer leadership.
- Demonstrates creativity in designing innovative programs and engagement initiatives.
- Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to drive projects from conception to completion.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Maintains professionalism and discretion while building strong relationships with colleagues, donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Informed about current issues in Israel and the Jewish communal landscape.
- Works effectively both independently and collaboratively in a small team atmosphere.
- Experience in social media oversight, email marketing tools, basic graphic design, and website content management.
- Proactive problem solver with strong technical skills, including Microsoft's Office Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom, CRM/database management, and project planning software.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- Four to six years of relevant experience in program management, event coordination, communications, nonprofit administration, or executive support.
- Previous experience supervising personnel.
- Preferred background includes Jewish communal, nonprofit, Israel-related, educational, or membership organizations.
- Limited Hebrew proficiency and experience living, working, or studying in Israel are assets.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range between $80,000 and $90,000, based on experience.

Work Location and Conditions
