About the Role
The Security Engineering & Architecture group at Apple is charged with ensuring the security of all Apple devices and software. Our mission is to proactively identify and tackle vulnerabilities to protect over a billion users worldwide. Join a highly skilled team focused on innovative security research that influences products ranging from iPhones to Macs and Apple TVs.
Key Responsibilities
You will work extensively on researching vulnerabilities across Apple's software, firmware, and hardware platforms—spanning from microarchitecture to applications such as Safari, Mail, and Messages. Your expertise will contribute directly to evaluating the security of iOS and macOS, including kernel and user-space elements, boot ROMs, and hardware components. Collaborating with diverse teams and external partners, your work will strengthen Apple’s overall product security through analysis and exploitation of discovered vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in vulnerability research and binary exploitation.
- Thorough knowledge of common vulnerability categories and attack techniques.
- Strong creative problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- In-depth understanding of security design in complex operating systems.
- Familiarity with macOS or iOS security architectures is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with reverse-engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, or similar.
- Experience developing security tools in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Swift, and Objective-C.
