Role Summary
The Vice President of Technology will be a strategic and operational leader reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, working remotely with occasional travel. This role is pivotal in transforming our technology function from foundational IT to a comprehensive enterprise capability that integrates IT, engineering, and data to support significant company growth across multiple states and clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the enterprise technology roadmap aligned with clinical, operational, and financial goals.
- Lead AI adoption initiatives, including assessing, selecting, and deploying AI tools such as ambient documentation, AI-assisted coding, and intelligent intake triage.
- Act as an internal advocate for responsible AI practices and educate leadership on AI risks and safeguards.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring cloud, network, endpoint management, and multi-clinic systems are secure, scalable, and reliable.
- Manage IT vendor and MSP partnerships, ensuring service level agreements and contracts are met.
- Develop and sustain the company's cybersecurity program with risk assessments, remediation planning, and compliance to HIPAA, NIST, CIS Controls, and HITRUST standards.
- Lead vendor technical governance and third-party risk assessments.
- Build and direct software engineering efforts for internal tools, integrations, and AI-driven workflow automation, including EHR integration and billing technology.
- Design and implement data architecture and governance ensuring data integrity and accessibility for operational and clinical decision-making.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing technology team across IT, engineering, and data, fostering a culture of ownership aligned with Guidelight’s mission.
- Partner with Compliance, Privacy, Clinical, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure technology supports regulatory and accreditation requirements such as CMS, CARF, and state behavioral health licensing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in technology, with 3–5 years in a senior VP or director capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise building and scaling technology teams and capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with enterprise AI solutions.
- Background in healthcare technology, especially behavioral health and multi-site operations preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, healthcare data governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Financial acumen with experience managing technology budgets.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively through ambiguity and change.
- Preferred experience includes working with EHR platforms like Kipu, AI-enabled clinical tools, modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Domo), and growth-stage healthcare operations in multiple states.
