Vice President of Operations

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding founder-led eCommerce agency, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to become a pivotal member of their leadership team. This full-time, remote position is ideally suited for candidates located in or near Austin, Texas. This is a unique opportunity for a transformative leader who thrives on building scalable systems and becoming the right hand of the CEO, paving a clear path to the Chief Operating Officer role.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire operational rhythm of the company by leading weekly leadership meetings and monthly business reviews to translate strategy into actionable plans for all departments.
• Design, refine, and maintain scorecards, accountability frameworks, and delivery processes that enable scalable growth while maintaining speed and quality.
• Lead a company-wide transformation incorporating AI by developing and deploying automation solutions that enhance profit margins, velocity, and quality across functions.
• Own profit and loss outcomes by improving margin through optimized delivery costs, resource utilization, pricing strategies, and vendor management as the organization scales.
• Establish robust systems and practices for monitoring client account health to convert retention into a competitive edge.
• Set accountability standards among the leadership team by identifying risks proactively and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with leadership on workforce capacity planning and organizational structure, providing monthly performance reports and highlighting critical decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience managing operations in a service or agency environment with revenues exceeding $10 million, preferably within eCommerce or Amazon-focused companies.
• Hands-on expertise designing, implementing, and managing AI-powered systems and automation tools that have demonstrably improved financial performance, beyond basic familiarity with standard chatbot technologies.
• Strong capability in creating operational models, including meeting cadences, performance scorecards, and accountability mechanisms developed from scratch with documented results.
• A proactive, systems-building mindset that favors innovation and initiative over simply increasing headcount or escalation for problems.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a base salary range between $160,000 and $180,000 annually, adjustable according to experience, along with a performance-based bonus structure targeting total compensation exceeding $200,000.
