Vice President, Engineering

Role Overview

This leadership role is with a partner company in the United States seeking a Vice President of Engineering. The position focuses on spearheading the engineering efforts to develop advanced AI-enabled platforms that transform a traditionally manual industry through automation, speed, and accuracy improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end engineering platform strategy to ensure scalability, system reliability, and ongoing enhancements.
• Manage and expand a skilled engineering team fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
• Collaborate closely with executive leaders and teams in data science and machine learning to create and deploy state-of-the-art AI-driven solutions.
• Drive the creation of real-time AI-powered decision systems that utilize data insights and automation.
• Increase engineering throughput by refining processes, improving technical methodologies, and boosting delivery performance.
• Oversee the design and launch of robust production systems integrating multifaceted data sources and business workflows.
• Maintain high standards of reliability, security, compliance, and customer impact for all engineering solutions.
• Align cross-functional tech initiatives with business goals and product roadmaps.
• Transform manual, labor-intensive processes into efficient, automated systems.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience including leadership of teams with 10 or more engineers.
• Proven record in building and managing production systems driven by machine learning, AI, or automation technologies.
• Deep understanding of data infrastructure design, data ingestion challenges, and large-scale systems reliability.
• Experience partnering with data science and ML teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Industry experience in fintech, proptech, insurtech, or sectors involving regulated and financially critical transactions is preferred.
• Background in startup or fast-paced environments requiring autonomous decision-making and adaptability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technology platforms from strategic vision through execution, engaging executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in software architecture, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices.
• Capacity to improve engineering speed without compromising quality and operational excellence.
• Strong communication skills to unify technical teams and business leadership around shared objectives.
