About the Role
Join Liverpool City Council as an Urban Designer within the City Design and Public Domain team, a group consisting of specialists in Urban Design, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture. This team collaborates to deliver superior design outcomes across the Liverpool local government area, emphasizing people-centered solutions.
This is a three-year temporary full-time position requiring 35 hours per week over five days, located at Moore Street, Liverpool CBD.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic design documentation, including policies, plans, strategies, studies, guidelines, and manuals.
- Provide expert advice and contributions to planning and infrastructure projects conducted by Council teams, the NSW Government, and other entities.
- Prepare Concept Plans, Project Briefs, and project management documents to guide infrastructure projects executed by various Council teams.
- Compile grant funding applications for infrastructure projects managed within the Council.
Candidate Profile
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or closely related fields.
- Demonstrate experience working on design projects.
- Exhibit strong communication skills—written, verbal, and graphic—including proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Be a self-starter with practical, results-driven mindset capable of independently managing a complex, dynamic workload.
- Possess excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- Hold a current Class C Driver’s License.

Additional Information
The salary offered ranges from $92,042 to $100,855 plus superannuation, aligned with skills and experience. Applicants must undergo a National Police Check and potentially a pre-employment medical examination. Candidates must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be eligible for permanent roles within the Council.
