Technician

Role overview

Mattex is a global producer of polymer-based synthetic materials used in carpet backings, artificial grass yarn, polypropylene staple fibers, and geotextiles. The company is recruiting for industrial technical roles in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, including Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician, Extrusion Operator, and QC Technician.

This opportunity is suited to candidates with practical plant-floor experience who are comfortable supporting production equipment, maintaining quality, and keeping operations running smoothly in a manufacturing environment.

Mechanical Technician

• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance for production equipment, including gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Investigate and fix mechanical issues on extrusion lines and supporting machines to reduce stoppages.
• Perform regular inspections, alignment work, and lubrication according to maintenance schedules.
• Use mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to support installation, servicing, and repair tasks.
• Qualification needed: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in a factory or manufacturing setting; experience in textiles or plastics is preferred.

Electrical Technician

• Install, service, and troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, PLCs, sensors, and production control systems.
• Identify and resolve electrical faults promptly to help avoid production delays.
• Work from wiring diagrams, circuit drawings, and control panel layouts.
• Carry out planned electrical maintenance and safety inspections in line with plant requirements.
• Support automation and instrumentation improvements.
• Qualification needed: Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in a continuous-process manufacturing environment.

Extrusion Operator

• Run and monitor extrusion lines for tape, yarn, or film production while maintaining output and product quality.
• Adjust process settings such as temperature, speed, and tension to match production standards.
• Perform in-process quality checks and escalate any variation without delay.
• Carry out basic troubleshooting and work with maintenance teams when technical issues arise.
• Prior practical experience operating extrusion equipment in polymers, plastics, or textile manufacturing is required.

QC Technician - Textiles Industry

• Check raw materials, work-in-progress fabric or yarn, and finished products to ensure they meet quality requirements.
• Carry out physical and visual tests on woven, non-woven, and extruded textile products, including tensile strength, GSM, dimensions, and weave consistency.
• Record defects, document findings, and work with production and extrusion teams to identify root causes.
• Maintain inspection logs, test records, and batch traceability files.
• Support adherence to internal quality management procedures and customer or industry standards.
• Qualification needed: Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Quality Control, or a related discipline with 4+ years of QC experience in textiles, carpet, geotextile, or woven fabric manufacturing.
