Position Overview
The Warehouse Labourer role is crucial to warehouse operations, involving the manual handling and systematic organization of freight and materials within a climate-controlled facility. This position ensures the accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of products to uphold timely delivery and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually load and unload freight within a temperature-regulated warehouse environment.
- Systematically stack, store, and arrange merchandise in assigned locations.
- Pick orders from inventory, assemble shipments, and prepare products for delivery.
- Check freight for correctness, damage, and pest infestation.
- Conduct labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking tasks as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Capability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
- Willingness and availability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
- High attention to detail with consistent ability to meet deadlines.
Physical Demands
- Comfortable working in confined spaces with approximately 55 inches of headroom.
- Ability to tolerate cold temperatures down to -15°F and outdoor weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain.
- Capable of working at heights up to 30 feet, accessing elevated stock using safety equipment.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods, sometimes up to five hours during an 8–12 hour shift.
- Physical strength to lift and move items weighing up to 55 pounds to heights of 80 inches and items up to 70 pounds to heights of 50 inches, including carrying loads up to 6 feet without mechanical aids.
