Position Summary

We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our mission of positively impacting the veterinary profession and improving the well-being of pets and their owners. This role oversees the entire recruitment lifecycle, workforce planning, devising recruitment strategies, enhancing recruitment processes, and ensuring a personalized and engaging experience for candidates. Candidates must have prior experience within the veterinary medicine sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, making offers, and transitioning to onboarding.
  • Ensure timely, transparent, and customized communication with candidates throughout all stages of hiring.
  • Identify and engage with passive candidates to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Create and implement efficient, candidate-centered recruitment processes that provide a positive hiring experience.
  • Partner with clinic managers and leadership to anticipate staffing needs and develop strategic hiring plans.
  • Utilize workforce analytics to determine staffing gaps and proactively devise solutions.
  • Continuously refine workforce planning to align with shifting business objectives and industry trends.
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies tailored to the unique challenges faced in veterinary recruiting.
  • Enhance sourcing techniques, including partnerships with educational institutions, veterinary associations, and digital channels.
  • Regularly assess recruitment strategies and incorporate feedback and data to optimize processes.
  • Embed a high-touch engagement model in candidate communications emphasizing empathy and clarity.
  • Train hiring managers on delivering outstanding candidate experiences through effective communication.
  • Collect and utilize candidate feedback to improve recruitment practices.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to hiring managers by sharing market trends, talent availability, and best recruitment strategies.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including veterinary schools and associations.
  • Identify collaboration improvements among stakeholders to boost efficiency and alignment.
  • Monitor key recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, candidate satisfaction, and quality-of-hire.
  • Leverage data insights to detect inefficiencies and recommend actionable interventions.
  • Present routine recruitment performance reports with improvement recommendations to leadership.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least five years of talent acquisition experience, specifically sourcing and managing full-cycle recruitment of DVMs (Doctors of Veterinary Medicine) with a focus on providing exceptional candidate experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and enhance recruitment workflows and communication approaches.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning, sourcing strategies, and trends within the veterinary sector.
  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems, human resource information systems, and various recruitment technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Knowledge of veterinary hiring challenges involving veterinarians, technicians, and support roles.
  • Existing professional relationships within veterinary schools, associations, or networks.
  • Relevant HR or talent acquisition certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or AIRS.
  • Experience advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in hiring practices within veterinary fields.
  • Background working with staffing agencies is advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Minimal travel required, estimated between 0 to 10%, with hybrid or remote work arrangements as approved.
