Job description
Overview
We invite compassionate individuals interested in making a meaningful impact to join us as Home Support Workers in the Auckland region. This role involves assisting clients to maintain their independence, safety, and comfort within their own homes by providing tailored care and support according to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility support to clients, facilitating safe transfers and assisting with mobility aids.
- Support household chores such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and feeding when required.
- Offer companionship and emotional encouragement through engaging conversations and activities.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and social engagements to help foster community participation.
- Administer prescribed medications and carry out delegated health-related duties.
- Monitor health by checking vital signs, aiding with exercises or physical therapy, and observing for possible side effects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a support worker.
- Preferred background working with clients having brain or spinal injuries.
- Health and Wellbeing qualifications at Level 3 or 4 preferred.
- Additional certifications such as Brain Injury Support, Pressure Injury management, or managing complex medical needs are advantageous.
- Strong empathy and genuine passion for supporting people in need.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Possession of a full or restricted driver’s license and reliable access to transportation.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Compensation
- Hourly pay ranges from $23.95 to $29.10 based on qualification levels from Level 0 to Level 4 Health and Wellbeing equivalencies.
