About the Role

Join Curtin University as a Student Conduct Officer, where you'll contribute to fostering an environment of fairness, integrity, and respect within the university community. This fixed-term, full-time position until 31 December 2026 is based at the Curtin Bentley Campus, offering a role dedicated to managing and supporting all facets of student conduct matters.

Responsibilities

In this key position, you will act as the primary contact for student misconduct cases, providing precise and timely advice to both staff and students aligned with the University's Misconduct Rules. Your duties will involve overseeing the entire process of misconduct case management—from lodging cases to collaborating with academic schools and the Student Conduct Team—to ensure consistent, fair, and policy-compliant outcomes. Additionally, you will manage student requests for reviews and appeals, and assist assessors, panels, and committees during case hearings.

Selection Criteria and Skills

Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent written communication with the ability to craft detailed correspondence and documentation. Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to build meaningful relationships at all organization levels are essential. You'll need superior organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities effectively, alongside sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities. The role requires discretion in handling confidential information, professional judgment, and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a value-driven team. Preference will be given to those with experience in tertiary education or government settings and familiarity with large, custom-built record management systems or similar databases.

Role Requirements

This appointment requires you to have current Australian work rights throughout the contract duration. Successful applicants must pass a National Police Clearance and satisfy background, integrity, and reference checks conducted by Curtin University.
