Role Overview
Based in Nairobi County, Kenya, this full-time on-site role focuses on building and managing strategic partnerships that align with the organization's mission. Responsibilities include developing partnership strategies, conducting business analysis and planning, maintaining relationships with key partners, and managing ongoing engagements. Collaboration with editorial, production, and operations teams is essential to implement joint ventures, co-branded efforts, and sustained collaborations. Additionally, the position involves monitoring partnership performance, preparing detailed reports and presentations, and identifying new business opportunities to broaden The African Diary’s influence.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in forming and expanding strategic partnerships and driving business development initiatives.
- Experience in consulting and business planning to evaluate prospects, create partnership structures, and back informed decisions.
- Strong account management capabilities to foster partner satisfaction and oversee ongoing collaborations.
- Effectiveness in engaging with diverse stakeholders including corporate, nonprofit, media, and policy sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to clearly convey complex concepts.
- Project management proficiency encompassing planning, prioritization, and execution of multi-party projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, International Relations, or related disciplines; higher qualifications preferable.
- Knowledge of African media, storytelling, and impact-focused groups, along with interest in the socio-economic developments on the continent.
- Ability to operate on-site in Nairobi County within a cooperative work environment while taking responsibility for strategic goals.
